The new Progressive Metal album releases for the week of February 13, 2013 are here. This week we’ve got the incredible new album by Poland’s Disperse who have added a heavy djent-influenced sound to their sophisticated brand of fusion-inspired prog metal. We’ve also got two albums by Italian bands, the wonderful fourth album by Kingcrow and the debut album by the Tool, Meshuggah and Sieges Even-inspired sounds of Hypnotheticall. This week sees some pretty cool experimental stuff from the U.S. – the latest cello-led wonders of Grayceon, the technical insanity of Doctor Professor, the very Agalloch-inspired dark folk-metal sounds of Forlorn Path and the latest electronic prog metal of Steamforged. You can check out got song clips for each album from Amazon, BandCamp and ReverbNation.
(Note to bands and fans: please let us know if any albums are missing from this week’s release schedule and we will gladly include them. No demos please but we will include E.P.’s if they’re available for purchase. If you do decide to purchase any of this week’s albums please do so via the links below as that does help to fund this webzine.)

One song from their debut album is available for free download from their BandCamp site.) | April Weeps - Official Facebook Page With Three FREE Songs! |
![]() | Arcane Reality | Echoes | Sweden | Progressive Power Metal (debut album by this prog power metal album. Powerful riff-based music fronted by female operatic vocals. Definitely reminds me of the great Dutch band After Forever.)
![]() | Disperse | Living Mirrors | Poland | Progressive Metal (Unbelievably great new album by Disperse that adds a strong, heavy Djent base to their very sophisticated melodic and jazz fusion inspired metal. Without a doubt Living Mirrors will be one of the best albums of 2013.) | (Download) (CD) |
![]() | Doctor Professor | Harbouring a Mutant Gene | United States | Progressive Technical Metal (Wild and heady tech metal for fans of Intronaut, Dillinger Escape /Plan, Between The Buried and Me, etc.)
![]() | Forlorn Path | Man's Last Portrait | United States | Progressive Melodic Death Metal (Excellent new group mining the same dark folkish metal terrotory of Agalloch. Available for FREE (!) download.)

![]() | Hypnotheticall | A Farewell to Gravity | Italy | Progressive Metal (very cool, relatively unknown heavy band that draws inspiration from Tool, Meshuggah, Sieges Even and Pain Of Salvation. Great album with a ton of heaviness, a great melancholy melodic sense and tons of varied textures and moods.)
![]() | Kingcrow | In Crescendo | Italy | Progressive Rock/Metal (Phenomenal fourth album by this long-running Italian band that has added more darker prog rock elements (think Porcupine Tree) to their heavy progressive metal sound. Great and very accessible album.) | (Download) (CD) x |
![]() | Steamforged | Fractured Singularity | United States | Progressive Electronic Metal (Interesting one-man project of electronic-infused instrumental metal. Available for FREE (!) download.) |

Can’t wait to dig into the music, but just have to say, I’m loving all the covers. What other genre generates deep space pictorals right alongside babies in nests?
Cool Sam. Hope you like the music!
